Richard Young started his musical career in the seventies.Early years were spent in a local band with world famous bass player John Deacon of Queen fame. John's family home at the time was just round the corner from the showroom in Hidcote Road Oadby. After many years as a professional pianist, Richard studied to become a qualified tuner technician and through the years has built up a substantial client base. Always being asked advice on buying a piano, he started to buy and restore pianos at his workshop in Smeeton Westerby. The demand for his pianos was such that it was time to find somewhere to present them properly,so Richard and wife Anna opened the Oadby shop, in October 1998.Oadby lies about 6 miles south east of Leicester on the A6 between Leicester and Market Harborough and within easy access from the M1 to the west and A14 to the south.
We set out to provide a quality instrument at an affordable and competitive price. All pianos, new or used, are prepared thoroughly to give the highest possible level of service, backed up by the same high standard of after sales care.
The internet has enabled consumers to source items and goods and by so doing obtaining the keenest prices. This is fine for general mass produced merchandise including digital pianos but not necessarily a wise practice when buying a real piano. Every real piano has unique sound characteristics and there are subtle differences (sometimes large), from one to another even the same make and model. All this said, we are happy to supply pianos through the internet and we list on this website carefully selected makes and models at very competitive prices that we can deliver to you usually within a few days. We stock a range of pianos, new and used,(and digital) to suit most pockets and can quote competitively on all makes of new piano, whether upright, grand or digital.
